Kenwood NX-800 Service Manual
The OC dspargo said: The receiver has the ability to run both A and B speakers at the same time. The receiver manual says all the speakers 3 in this case will be run in a series. It will be better in that there will be less resistance in the wire between the amp and the speakers. If you run the speakers through the sub you will use more wire. You will also have more connections.

Shootouts From September to February , our audiophile panelist Jim systematically evaluated the sound of many top tuners most provided by our benefactor Jesse in side-by-side shootouts. Shootouts competed for Jim’s attention with many other audio projects and no new installments are now expected. A -C- appears next to those few tuners that seem to get everything right as far as sound quality is concerned.
The familiar numerical listing need not always apply within this elite group.

At this point, buying preamps and discrete seperate audio components may well be getting you in too deep. There’s a lot of knowledge you need to have before you try to do anything in that route. Especially since you’re talking about 4-ohm speakers. Almost all consumer-level equipment is 8-ohm If you use different impedance equipment say 4ohm speakers with a receiver rated for 8ohms without taking into consideration all the factors, you can easily damage or destroy your speakers and the amplifier section of your receiver or discrete amplifier, etc etc It is possible to run mismatched equipment but speakers have to be hooked up in groups bye bye 5.
There is such a thing as a bridgeable amplifier, but no, you can’t hook two high-ohm receivers together to run a low-ohm speaker. As for how much power you need, watts per channel is more than enough for most people’s home theatre. Go much above that and you’ll be getting the cops called on you for noise complaints. You were asking me about running this system for listening to mp3s and downloaded movies off your computer.
To be brutally honest, you’re going way overkill. The Yamaha RX series receivers you were looking at were perfect for what you’re wanting to do.

Jun 20, · Got a Kenwood KMRu receiver and just bought a JL M/6 Amp. How do I connect everything up. 12v pwr for the amp, move speaker wiring from receiver to amp, How do the RCA jacks connect? Would I contact Kenwood or JL for a wiring diagram?
Would you like to merge this question into it? MERGE already exists as an alternate of this question. Would you like to make it the primary and merge this question into it? MERGE exists and is an alternate of. This statement made by another is true. Each speaker will also divide the available wattage and will not have a lot of power. Take it to a good shop if you don’t know the formula for this. Dont even think about running this big wire through the door jamb, run it through an existing gromit in the firewall and fuse the wire amp within 12 inches of the battery.
Disconnect the negative… battery wire before you do anything. Ground the amp to solid frame seatbelt or seat bolts and large ring connectors work well , if you dont, it will ground through the rca cables and make large amounts of smoke when you turn it on. A mono amp is generally used for extremely low frequencies ie bass that are channeled into a single subwoofer. It doesn’t matter that both stereo chann…els are combined for these low bass frequencies because you couldn’t tell which channel the sounds are coming from anyway because you feel the sound pressure more than hear the sound.

Review by J-PMatt Comcast. Net A on September 14, at This 50 pound beast was the king of the hill when it was released in , and conservatively rated at WPC. But I did find the KA , and mine was being auctioned off by a service tech who is a major Kenwood junkie. Mine also has the silver rack handles, and they too are in perfect shape.

May 20, · Can i hook up 4 speakers to a 2 channel amp? i drive a 97 ford f i have 3 subs hooked up to my truck and a kenwood excelon deck. I have Status: Resolved.
I did a decent amount of repair work to this Kenwood receiver, compared to my usual restoration routine. And I remembered to actually take photos of the whole process this time. Jeff Gordon I’m starting to run out of ways to introduce all of these receivers that I’ve been finding lately. I’ve been extremely lucky to come across so many this winter—it’s usually the in spring and summertime that this happens, mosty likely because people are cleaning out their garages.
All three share a similar faceplate design with the tuning and volume knobs protruding through the tuner dial glass. It looks like you can pass a quadraphonic signal into the back, but I’m unfamiliar with how it works. Normally this feature is a huge selling point, so I found it strange that it wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the faceplate. The owners manual seems to confirm that you can in fact listen to 4-channel sound with this receiver, but it probably converts it down to stereo or something.
As usual, most of the lights were burned out when I got it home, so once again, I ordered replacements from djwogo.

And back at installing more electronics into my car. No subs this time, and no 3 or 4 amps. So, I searched and searched for an answer to this question in the forums but couldn’t locate anything, so I figured I’d run it by you all in a new topic.

This matches the output of most preamplifiers and indicates that the SM S1 should work with the great majority of pre-amps, regardless of brand. The specs above also tell us that the THD total harmonic distortion in the audio range of , Hz is only 0. Taken as a whole, this amplifier does what I suggested a power amplifier should, which is make the input signal big enough to drive the loudspeakers without audibly changing it. Power amps typically have few front panel controls. Some have output meters on the front panel, occasionally with an associated range knob.
That is usually about the extent of power amplifier controls. There are also binding posts, jacks or screw terminals to which you attach speaker wires. There should be an AC cord, which you plug into an AC outlet to supply power to the amplifier. Power amps are simple to hook-up. Just remember that the signal comes out of the pre-amp and into the power amp. A good power amplifier should be well built, inside and out, so that it will last for decades of service.

I tested some more. Jango was right in that it has something to do with the fm signal being muted whenever it does not receive full stereo fm. The “stereo” on the display does not light. I once managed to quickly receive stereo and I heared the sound.
Kenwood Basic M2. Stereo Power Amplifier () (5 reviews) My favorite Kenwood Power Amp next to the M. Reviewed Mar 27th, by Cebigbos. You don’t need it but might as well hook it up if you aren’t swapping equipment and if it isn’t at risk of the wires coming loose. Its not a huge difference either way.
This is not a liability at all as the B is one of the best sounding tubes ever produced. Even if you have highest efficiency speakers, the golden tone of the B tube and extra headroom it provides, are still the safest bet for DHT amplifier success with the most kinds of speakers, especially if they are not horn types. Push- pull B amplification offers the highest output power level of any of the above configurations up to 40 watts per channel or more in some circuits!
For my initial foray into the world of DIY tube amps, I decided to hedge my bets and go with the B single-ended tube topology for higher power and great fidelity. If so, just skip to the appropriate section that you need. Getting your hands on a good schematic is the probably the second most important step in the amp building process. Unless you are an experienced experimenter and design your own amps, the safest route is to select a proven schematic from many that are offered for free at sites on the Internet.

I really want to be able to hook up my old speakers threw my amp/tuner to the new Vizio smart 55 inch TV I just bought. But it appears the input on the TV has a new Digital/Audio connection.
How many RMS watts are they on each channel. Normally 4-channel amps only put out between each channel. So you need to find the RMS wattage of each terminal and the Ohms. But normally Never inside speakers and Subs on an amp unless its a 5-channel amp Can I wire two 2 ohm subs to a 4 ohm amplifier Yeah, you’re fine. Don’t do it if each speaker is 2 ohms though. Wiring two 4 ohm speakers in parallel results in a 2 ohm overall impedance to the amp, which your amp was designed to handle.
They’re just warning you not to wire a set of two 2 ohm speakers to each terminal, which would give a 1 ohm total impedance and fry your amp although this could be accomplished safely by wiring the speakers in series How to wire my 2 12 inch dual voice coil 4 ohm massive sub woofers There isn’t a wiring configuration for a pair of DVC 4 ohm subs that results in a final impedance of 2 ohms. The wiring options result in either 1 ohm both voice coils and subs in parallel or 4 ohms voice coils in series, subs in parallel.
With a 2-channel amp, you can either wire one sub with voice coils in parallel to each channel or bridge the amp channels and wire the subs to 4 ohms. In either case, the power to the subwoofers is the same. The diagram for wiring them mono to the bridged channels is here. What size amp do i need to push 4 12 inch kicker subs you need a charging system upgrade to run 4 12″ sub woofers, and the RMS rating is how you match a sub woofer to a class d amplifier the amp is set up for running sub woofers.
